The Asociacion De Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM) and The Coimbra Group (CG) would like to present their first joint workshop for junior researchers.
The workshop’s overarching theme is: “Sustainability”
This event aims to review and discuss different approaches in Latin-‐America and Europe, from the point of view of Ph.D. students, and junior researchers (Postdoc students), in order to promote a sustainable future in our societies. The various topics to be discussed will include, but not be limited to:
- Sustainable governance and development,
- Environmental, social and economic sustainability,
- Infrastructural sustainability,
- Sustainable agriculture
- Ethical sustainable strategies
- Ecological and social sustainability representations
The event will take place at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil, on May, 10th 2019. A range of activities will take place around the proposed workshop, hosted by UFRGS, to which participants will be welcome to attend. A full programme will be published in April 2019.
Interested students should provide a title and extended abstract (2 pages), in English, of their contribution, including a reflection on how their research addresses one or more of the above themes, BY 15 MARCH 2019. The abstract must sent, in PDF, by e-‐mail to:
- Soledad Garcia Ferrari (s.garcia@ed.ac.uk) for the students from Coimbra Group;
- Nicolas Maillard (nicolas.maillard@relinter.ufrgs.br) for the students from AUGM.
During the workshops, participants will be expected to prepare a 20-‐minutes presentation, also in English. The abstracts will be evaluated by a committee of experts from GC and AUGM, selected from the research groups working on sustainability.
