On 28 September 2021 an agreement was signed, arranging for the funding of the project Maintenance of Jagiellonian University's research infrastructure developed with the funds under the 2nd priority of the Operational Programme Economy of Innovation 2007-2013. The project will be carried out in the years 2021 – 2024 under the funding of the Infrastart programme, supervised by the National Centre for Research and Development.
Under the Programme, JU research entities will receive financial support for the maintenance of research infrastructure, which will contribute to the advancement of their research and commercial activity.
The project by Jagiellonian University envisages assistance to research infrastructure of the following OPEI projects:
- Atomic Scale Science for Innovative Economy, agreement no POIG.02.01.00-12-023/08-10 implemented at JU Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science and JU Faculty of Chemistry;
- Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology, agreement no POIG.02.01.00-12-167/08-13, implemented by Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology;
- Jagiellonian Centre for Experimental Therapeutics, agreement no POIG.02.02.00-00-014/08-10, implemented by Jagiellonian Centre for Experimental Therapeutics (JCET);
- Molecular Biotechnology for Health, agreement no POIG.02.01.00-12-064/08-13, implemented by JU Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology.
The funding is awarded to projects in accordance to a special algorithm, which is based, among other things, on the income generated by the project and the value of R&D projects carried out as international collaboration.
