ERC Consolidator Grants

Objectives

ERC Consolidator Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they may still be consolidating their own independent research team or programme. Applicant Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal.

The only criterion for the evaluation of the project is scientific excellence (the qualifications and achievements of the Principal Investigator), as well as the originality and scientific value of the idea.

Application evaluation is two-stage, in the second stage an interview is planned with the author of the application. Low-rated applications may result in an annual or two-year grace period for re-submission of applications.
