Purpose of the call:

The objective of the call is to support the career development of young researchers by creating opportunities for full-time employment and research in Poland and enabling them to gain knowledge and experience during fellowships in first-rate foreign research institutions.

Please note that the employment criteria for the Principal Investigator have changed since the last edition of the call for proposals - the employment of the Principal Investigator cannot be planned in the institution where he/she has earned a doctoral degree.

The following proposals may be submitted under the call:

• to carry out research that neither is nor was funded by the NCN nor from any other sources;
• which comprise basic research laid down in Article 4 (2) of the Act on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668) in any of the academic disciplines defined in the NCN panels adopted by the NCN Council;.
• employment under a full-time employment contract must be planned in the proposal for the principal investigator, in a position dedicated to research tasks covered by the project, in another institution than the one from which the principal investigator has earned a PhD degree;
• which cover research projects planned for a period of either 24 or 36 months;
• in which a foreign fellowship will be planned for a period of 3 to 6 months in a foreign research institution selected by the principal investigator, on terms and conditions laid down in the Regulations, and will present a document in English confirming a consent of a foreign institution for his/her foreign fellowship;
• in which the purchase or construction of research equipment, devices and software is not planned; and
• in which indirect costs may be up to 20% of the direct costs.

Internal regulations of the Jagiellonian University:

In accordance with the Jagiellonian University Rector’s Directive No. 56 on July 11, 2016 on the rules of procedure for the preparation and implementation at the JU of projects financed from external sources, researchers interested in participating in the call should submit to the CAWP:

• in the case of a project submitted by a research team, until 27 February 2020 please contact the CAWP call supervisor (indicated in this announcement), in order to prepare an agreement,
• until 2 March 2020 a working version of the application sent in a PDF file to the address of the CAWP call supervisor;  (a working version means the necessity of completing at least the following sections:  Applicant, Investigators, Work plan, Project Budget with its justification),

• until 9 March 2020:

1) the final version of the proposal in one copy (document generated from the ZSUN/OSF in PDF form, signed by the applicant and by the Head of the Unit / Dean of the appropriate Faculty in which the project will be carried out),

2) together with the required documents, i.e.:

a) generated and printed from the OSF system, the document titled  “The confirmation of submitting the proposal by Head of the entity/ authorised representative” in PDF file;
b) document confirming that the principal investigator holds a PhD degree, and if the principal investigator is intending to earn a PhD degree, a declaration by the PhD supervisor or certificate of the forecasted award date of the PhD degree issued by a competent institution, in the form of a scan of the document signed by hand or a document signed by a qualified electronic signature, in PDF file form,
c) document confirming approval by the research institution to host the foreign fellowship of the principal investigator, in the form of a scan of the document signed by hand or a document signed by a qualified electronic signature, in PDF file form,

3) printed and signed Project Registration Form, constituting Annexe 2e to the abovementioned Regulations available at www.cawp.uj.edu.pl "Projects" tab ® "For applicants" ®"Rules for project preparation at the Jagiellonian University"

The above-mentioned terms should be treated as final.
