Subject of the competition:
National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced a call for projects in the NAWA Intervention Grants programme, the aim of which is to support international cooperation of research teams or international mobility of researchers undertaken in response to important, urgent and unforeseen social, civilisational and natural phenomena with global or regionally relevant consequences
Proposals submitted in the programme must cover research activities that, for reasons of rapid response, cannot be implemented through application to other existing funding mechanisms. Participation in the programme will enable researchers to undertake intervention research in international collaboration and develop solutions relevant to responding to disruptive events.
The key element of the project is international collaboration of the project group or international mobility of researchers focused on meeting the project’s research objectives. In the case of research projects that foresee scientific expeditions and field work in the area of occurrence of phenomena and processes of a unique nature and requiring urgent intervention, only activities of an international mobility nature may be included in the proposal.
The total allocation under the call is PLN 5 million.
The maximum value of one project cannot exceed PLN 300,000.

The call for proposals by NAWA is continuous until the allocation is exhausted, but no later than 20 December 2024 at 3 p.m. local time for Warsaw (Poland).
JU internal regulations:
Due to the fact that a university may submit no more than three proposals for three separate projects in the call, please submit to the call assistant at the RSC by no later than 2 July 2024 at 12.00 p.m. the declarations of application in the call prepared in accordance with the template attached as Annex 1 to this RSC Information.
Project proposals may be submitted electronically - a PDF document signed with a qualified electronic signature or in the form of a scan with a handwritten signature alongside a version of the proposal open to editing. Signatures required: author of the proposal, head of the JU organisational unit (i.e. Dean or Director/Head of other organisational unit) acting as the project’s host institution.
- A JU unit shall submit with the call assistant at the RSC one proposal selected by the Head of JU organisational unit (Dean, Director/Head of other organisational unit).
- A JU MC unit shall submit to the call assistant at the Research Department of JU MC one proposal selected by the Head of the JU MC organisational unit.
Given the declarations that will have been submitted, Jagiellonian University authorities will decide on the mode of further processing of the proposals. A call assistant at the RSC or at the Research Department at JU MC shall inform you of the decision of JU authorities.
Once the information on the proposals selected for further processing has been communicated:
1. JU units
The call assistant at the RSC will contact the representative of the host entity of the selected project to determine individual dates for delivery of project documentation (i.e. the research project entry form, the VAT eligibility form, and a draft and final version of the proposal).
The research project entry form and the VAT eligibility form are to be filled out in the electronic system JU Project Zone at: [https://strefaprojektow.uj.edu.pl/.]
2. JU MC units
The call assistant at the Research Department will contact a representative of the Faculty/Unit to determine individual dates for delivery of project documentation (i.e. The Research Project Entry Form, the VAT Eligibility Form, project statistical data, and a draft and final version of the proposal).
