Subject of the call:

Call for proposals intended to support mobility of researchers carrying out joint projects by Polish and French partners. 

Terms of the call:

  • eligible to apply for funding are institutions of science and higher education, e.g. universities, referred to in the Act of 20 July 2018 on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 478, as amended).
  • The project may be carried out over 12 or 24 months between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2024.
  • The proposed research project may address any research domain, however priority of funding will be given to projects with thematic scope meeting the priorities of the strategic partnership between the French Republic and the Republic of Poland (in particular: energy, i.e. nuclear energy; fossil fuels; renewable sources of energy; sustainable development; digital technology; artificial intelligence and health) and the European Union’s framework programme Horizon Europe (cancer; adaptation to climate change involving social transformation; healthy oceans, seas, coastal and inland waters; climateneutral and intelligent cities; healthy soil and food).
  • The funds available are dedicated towards covering the costs of travel of Polish researchers to France and the costs of stay of Polish researchers in France.
  • The maximum funding per project from the NAWA budget is PLN 25,000. The above amount may be extended at will using the applicant’s own funds.
  • Considered will be only projects submitted jointly in Poland and France. Proposals submitted in Poland and France should use the same title in English and specify the same implementation time frame.
  • Coordinator in the project may be a person with doctorate, employed by the applicant. Members of the research team may be members of the project coordinator’s existing research group, employed at their entity or other entities of the system of science and higher education. One may act as coordinator only in one project in a given call.
  • Coordinator in a project may not be a team member in another project submitted in the same call.
  • Priority will be given to teams that were not receiving funding under previous national calls.
  • A person submitting the proposal needs a valid power of attorney to represent the applicant, conferred by an authorised person, which should be attached to the proposal on submission. The RSC will draw up the power of attorney for all applicants in the call.
  • On review of the proposals additional criteria will be applied:
    • participation of young researchers in the Polish research team,
    • projects showing promise of collaboration under EU initiatives,
    • prospective cooperation with partners from the social and economic environment over the course of project implementation. 

Application Deadline:

30 June 30 2022 until 3:00:00 p.m.  21 July 2022 until 3:00:00 p.m.local time for Warsaw.

Form of submitting proposals:

The NAWA requires that proposals be submitted only electronically. In order to do this:

  • a) one has to register the proposal in the NAWA IT system, available on the website Logowanie / Rejestracja (nawa.gov.pl);
  • b) send in electronically, using the system, a completed proposal including the required annexes, no later than by 3 p.m. of the call’s deadline, i.e. 30 June 2022.

In light of the above, the proposal in electronic form should be sent only once approval by the university authorities have been secured. Information on approval of the proposal by JU authorities will be delivered by a call assistant at the RSC to the email addresses you have specified.

JU internal regulations:

Pursuant to the Order no 56 of JU Rector 11 July 2016 on: The procedure for drawing up and implementing projects funded from external sources at Jagiellonian University persons interested in entering the call are asked to deliver:

  • by 20 June 2022 12 July 2022::
    • a draft proposal, for the purposes of review and verification of formal eligibility (as a pdf file) the address of the call assistant at the RSC,
    • the research project entry form filled out in the electronic system JU Project Zone available at: https://strefaprojektow.uj.edu.pl/.
  • by 23 June 2022 18 July 2022 – the final version of the proposal- electronic version sent in as a pdf file signed with a qualified electronic signature or a pdf without signatures supported with an email declaration of its acceptance, or a scan of the hard copy with handwritten signatures) – signatures required: project author and the head of the JU organisational entity (i.e. Dean or Director/Head of other organisational entity).

The final version of the proposal generated in the system shall be NAWA saved as a pdf, titled as follows: Surname and given name of the principal investigator, name of the programme, date (e.g. Kowalski_Jan_NAWA_Francja_23-06-2022).
